Common name of mutation:
Berry Blood Boa
Scientific name: Boa
constrictor imperator
Details of genetics:
Proven recessive mutation
Comments: Blood boas are
a recessive, homozygous color
mutation which actually adds
red – a type of hypererythristic
mutation. Pure Blood boas are
considered true dwarf boas with
adult females generally
around 5ft in length and males
between 3 – 4ft.
This is a new line of proven
Pure Blood boa,
from a farmed, imported
Nicaraguan female. We bred her with
our male Pure Blood
and produced a clutch
of Pure Berry Bloods and 100% hets.
Although the babies still have a lot of
growing to do, they
are already starting to slow some great
color, a brighter
orange versus the deeper red of the
original line.
